This is Year Four of my Flax Project. It all started because I want to have a more sustainable wardrobe. Since I have sheep for wool, it made sense to plant a summer fiber. Living in Central New York is probably not the best climate for growing cotton--but flax, yes!

Saturday was our World Wide Knit in Public Day (WWKIP). My granddaughter, Frida was excited to accompany me for the first time this year. I can't remember what we were talking about on the drive to town, but she blurted out today's quote.

Fiber festivals. The neatest thing is to realize there are others out there, just like you, who get excited about string, a skein, a ball of yarn, fiber tools. People who have to touch. Everything. I understand. To be gathered all in one place for a weekend was beyond thrilling.
