"When the goal is worthy and makes one happy, one should continue on that same life path." —Kwan Yin

An update on the paper coffee filter collaboration with my granddaughter, Aimee. (If you missed the first part, you can find it here).

While students were weaving in the Studio, I was quietly spinning away on the Saori built-in bobbin winder.

I love how the paper feels as the twist enters between my fingers.

I love the sound of the paper as it twists. A soft, crinkly kind of sound. Like autumn leaves.

I love how the paper cloth grows before my eyes with each pass of the bobbin.

So in a dream, I brought the finished cloth to Aimee. A collaboration between the two of us.

And taking the weaving in her hands, she paused, then asked…

"Is it okay if I … Cut. It. Up?"

And so it goes on like this. Aimee and I each adding. Taking away. Constructing. Deconstructing. This thing we keep passing back and forth.

On and on.

I love the fact that neither

I love the fact that neither of you think it "too precious" to carry forward.
