"The lightning spark of thought generated in the solitary mind awakens its likeness in another mind." —Thomas Carlyle

This week, a collaboration with my seven year old granddaughter.

Aimee has always loved to paint. When she wakes up first thing in the morning, she makes a beeline for the easel. My daughter has learned to leave the easel out so Aimee can grab a brush whenever the spirit moves her.

This week, however, Aimee was painting coffee filters. She painted so many, my daughter had to go to the store several times to replenish the supply.

Aimee decorated all the windows. She decorated the walls. She made masks with the painted paper coffee filters. And doll clothes, too.

And then…she gifted me a stack of them!

Not wanting to make her think I didn't value her work, I asked for her permission to (gulp)

Cut…Them…Up!

Aimee, being the free spirit that she is, replied, "Go ahead."

So I did.

And then, I spun them…

to make a weaving Just. For. Her.

Thank you, Aimee, for the spark of re-awakening my love of paper spinning and weaving.

Fleece,

Karen
